We are never too old to learn

I am often asked where I have learnt what I do, as I have never had formal training in art at school. I hear all too many times of stories like mine, where students are told not to bother that they are no good at it etc. In my opinion art at schools should never be graded but encouraged. Off course I am not referring to art schools but to primary and high schools.
If you have kids and they colour outside the lines in their colour in books, please I beg you don't correct it but let them know how original they are. There is no right or wrong on art, which brings me to another pet hate. I hear so many people say " I can't do that, I can't draw " If you can hold a pencil and can make a mark on paper "HELLO, you are drawing" and that goes for painting too.
There is nothing to say that a painting or drawing of a certain object has to be a photo replica of the object. If that was the case the art galleries would be empty. Well that is enough of my rant for today.
If you would like to check out one of the program I use, here is the link.

Other programs I use are Art tutor, The Virtual Instructor, Paintbox and many more, but my number one go to is Paint Basket.
