Usually I paint on encaustic card, then glue them onto the wooden base. I thought I would try to see how painting on the wood would look. I like the texture but an not yet convinced of the colour. I did use the iron on these and found I had to do several layers of medium first to get the iron to glide. I have come to the conclusion that if painting on wood, brushes might be the go. I have a lot of experimenting to do yet, and that is before I even try adding mixed media. It has taken a while but I think I have found my medium. I love the way I never know how each painting will turn out. This has definitely freed up my art. These are only 105 x 148.5mm.
