Mixed Medium on canvas 20.3 x 25.4 cm.
This is one of five I have done today.
Due to family commitments my art time is very limited at the moment so here is me making the most of my time at home this week. I am due to enter some mini works at The Stationmaster's Art Gallery in Strathalbyn, South Australia this weekend. So keeping my black and white theme going, I have painted 7 canvases black this morning. They should be dry within the next hour then I can proceed with the white. Hopefully I can finish painting today. Put the hanging wire on tomorrow and take them in on Thursday while I am sitting at the gallery before heading back to mum's in the afternoon. Below are my canvases drying. Where there is a will there is a way.
I thought I would see what would happen if I took the cutesy out of my picture. Mind you some people probably find goats cute.
I regret that I have not had much art on daily this last week as I have been nursing my mother and not been home. So as I am not on line when I am there, I will be posting what I can when I can.
Today I have done A Ballerina Tying Up Her Ribbons.
The Black Cat
This was done in mixed medium as this time I used watercolour paper and painted it black first with my own mixture of acrylics.
I still used coloured pencils for the cat. They tend to show up better on the paint.
Today reaching 40c here I decided to use the day experimenting with marbling using a square baking dish to float the paint in. I created the clear circles by adding baby oil to the water which pushed the paint away. It was a very interesting exercise as I had never tried it before. These will make great backgrounds for photo art.
This zebra was a challenge I enjoyed doing. I did this on an A3 piece of black paper with a white pencil. I enjoy the effect of the white on black leaving no room for error.
This is the result of today's trip. I am happy to say I have found a framing shop I am happy with and am hoping to build a great relationship with for a long time to come. I made the call yesterday inquiring about getting this painting framed for a potential customer and I was more than happy with the result.
The eyes are my favourite part of this one. The animals are really fun to do. Once again only using a white coloured pencil
