Hi all, I hope you are having a great weekend. Today's word is nose so I have drawn 3 very quick examples. I think noses are the easiest of the facial features to draw. Mind you I would never have said that 2 years ago when I first started drawing. Have fun with it see how many different shaped noses you can come up with.
Leaf is the word for today. I decided on a dried up old gum leaf I found in the back yard. I think you would probably find a better looking leaf. Have fun no matter what you do.
The sketch layer is now hidden so you can see what's going on. The new area surrounding the right eye took me another 2 hours this morning as I have been at it since 5 am. So this painting is going to take quiet some time. I am working on an endangered animal series. If we are not going to look after them the least I can do is paint them so that my grand children and the others that follow can see what once was.
Another work in progress. This is me going solo with corel painter x3. I am taking my time with this one experimenting with colours and textures. There are hundreds of brushes to try so hopefully I will find the ones I need to do the hair nice and course. I am using lots of layers so that I create depth as well. I always find it easier to get the eyes out of the way so that the painting comes alive quickly and it encourages me to keep going.
My word for today is eraser. I decided on my electric eraser as it was more of a challenge. All drawings can be a challenge it depends on the effort put in.
Digital painting 14 x 11 inches.
This one was created using Corel Painter X3.
The whole process took approximately 8 hours.
I have just realized it is exactly two months ago today that I started creating and posting a picture a day. The time has just flown by. I am still having fun with it so I will keep going. My goal is to be able to carry on for a year. Only time will tell. Feel free to join the fun and post your creations too. As many of my friends and family know, I started art as a self help therapy. It has become much more than that. Now it is my life.
It is a well known fact that being creative helps relieve all sorts of stress and anxieties. So give it a go, draw, paint, carve, mold, write, dance or sing your way to wellness. What have you got to lose?
It is a beautiful sunny day today, so I sat outside to draw my clothes peg. I have to draw faster outside before the light shifts. Now that spring is almost here, I will be doing more of it.
I have added some of the trees and shacks. There are still some more trees and off course reflections to come.
Hook is the word today, So I drew this picture hook which is by far the hardest thing I Have tackled. If you really want to challenge yourself give this one a go. Remember to have fun though, no point getting annoyed if it does not work just do it again till it does.
